Dori Velasquez-Peach, LCP, is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist, and has been in practice for over 17 years. Dori has her own private practice and is co-owner of New Leaf Therapy Group. Dori received her Masters of Arts in psychology with an emphasis on clinical skills from Washburn University. She has experience practicing therapy services in community-based, outpatient and the private settings.
Dori enjoys working with all ages, including preschool-age children. She utilizes a variety of brain- and play-based therapy techniques and activities to assess, understand and meet the child at their social, emotional and developmental level. Dori empathizes and actively works with parents on supportive, positive parenting techniques and behavior modification to address their child’s treatment needs.
Dori works with elementary to adolescent children struggling with a variety of behavioral and emotional needs including anxiety disorders, worry and fears, behavioral and ADHD disorders, difficulty paying attention and following directions, poor impulse control, anger, aggression, mood disorders, depression, suicidal ideation and difficulty with friendships and in social situations. Dori works with children coping with a variety of stressors and loss and grief issues.
Dori integrates play- and activity-based Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), psychotherapy and solution-focused therapies with supportive parenting techniques to assess and meet the needs of your child. Dori is open to collaborating with other providers and school professionals to meet the overall needs of her clients.
